The concept for DeLuca & Willow came from a pivotal career inflection point for the CEO, Melissa DeLuca. Melissa has 25 years of technology industry business experience with companies like Google and Cisco where she built and led successful global HR teams and was a Top 10 business sales person. She designed, planned and executed over 50 large-scale organizational changes with quantified $MM business results. Then one day, in typical universal fashion, she was presented an opportunity to make a change, which was uncomfortably exciting. After working very hard and investing so much with her employers, Melissa reflected upon the various aspects of the roles she held over the years. She realized that career coaching and business empowerment services are her passions and strengths, so why not use her powers for good! This began the journey to launch DeLuca & Willow.

You may be thinking, OK, I get “DeLuca”, but I’m curious about “Willow”. Who’s Willow?
Willow is the company mascot, named for the willow tree which symbolizes learning, growth, and harmony which are core values to Melissa. Willow is a nine- year-old pit bull rescue, who spent her formative years as a fixed presence at Google. She participated in numerous executive and employee meetings and as a result, she is uniquely positioned to provide Weekly Work Wisdoms by Willow. She has the uncanny ability to simplify the complex, navigate ambiguity and turn strategy into action. [@delucawillow]
